Pioneer Islay Farmer
A pioneer farmer of the Islay
district, Seymour Winchell Wood-
ruff, died at Calgary where he was
receiving medical attention on June
27th, at the age of 68 years. His
passing followed closley that of his
brother 'Daddy' Woodruff who died
a few months ago. The two
brothers farmed and lived together.
He is survived by his wife, three
daughters, Mrs. George McCurdy,
Calgary; Mrs. W .Stott, Vancouver;
Mrs. M. Moncrieff, McLaughlin,
and one son Paul of Montreal.
There are five grandchildren. One
son Pat gave his life for his
country serving with the R.A.F. in
the last war.
The largely attended funeral ser-
vices were held on July 2nd at 2:00
o'clock at St. Saviour's Anglican
church. Interment was the Ver-
milion cemetery. Canon T. W.
Moyer's were in charge of ar-
