Copies: 1 ( 1 original newspaper clipping) "Elizabeth Whitney Hovenden Woodburn, Or., Jan. 19. -- (Spe - cial.) --- Elizabeth Whitney Hoven- den was buried in Butteville ceme- tery today. Rev. S.E. Long conduct- ing services. She was born at Lima, Ind., February 28, 1841. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Whitney, crosed the plains in 1847, settling on a cliam in Butteville. She was married to Amos Hovenden in 1859. Nine of their elven children are living. They are: Mrs. Sarah Moore, Corvallis; Mrs. Celia Morris, Broad- acres; Mrs. Edith Hirt, Aurora; Mrs. Effie Woodruff, St. Paul; Mrs. Amy Barber, Thirza Hovenden and Ed- win Hovenden, Woodburn; Albert Hovenden, William Hovenden, Woodburn. Nineteen grand-chil- dren and 16 great-grandchildren also survive." (front of original) |
