Notecard 1 side 1: Cornoyer, Narcisse 1820-1903 Barcusse was a quarter-blood from Illinois, son of Narcisse Cornoyer and Marie Ann Bernier. He was educated and intelligent, acted as sheriff in the early days of government in Oregon, (war service). After the war he moved to Athena to spend the rest of his days. He served as Corporal in the closing moments of the Yakima Indian War as corpral under Captain Sidney S. Forde Company of W.W. Mounted Militia, 1st Regiment. This group was recruited mainly fro the French-Canadians in the area,and included Narcisse Ramond, Pascal, John and Baptiste Piquette, Etienne Bernaise, Edward Beauchemin, Frank Clostier, Joseph LaRoque, Toussaint Moressette, Joseph Poirier Antoine Plassie/ / Louis Tellier, and the Iroquois J.B. - Ignace.
