    Background documentation for William Cannon 1755-1854. Believed to be the only Revolutionary War Soldier buried in Oregon. News Release: Gravesite of Revolutionary War Veteran To Be Honored. William Cannon is noted as having voted for provisional government at the Champoeg meeting on May 2, 1843, making him one of Oregon's founders. Cannon is buried at the Old Cemetary in St. Paul, Oregon.
